Now, this may be a weird question Reader, but have you ever wielded the power of a sledgehammer?
There is a reason "Demo Day" looks like so much fun on HGTV.
Tearing things down is refreshing, cathartic, and freeing.
Knowing that, in a sense, there's no going back, now you've got to make it newer, better - it's the stuff overly ambitious gals like me live for.
"I have a blank slate, and now I can come up with a new plan." Just watch as I click keys and take notes faster than you can say, "What's next."
And me, I’m done hemming, hawing, marinating, procrastinating, second-guessing, and overthinking (at least for this very moment - but hey, I am only human)
I'm picking up my metaphorical sledgehammer, and after three months of thinking about it, I'm finally feeling clear on what's next for my brand - and it's time to tear things down at Cedar June.
Maybe you can relate to feeling like you want to shift the direction your brand is headed in - but you aren’t 100% clear on where to start (if that’s you keep reading).
Without clarity - running the day to day of your brand and business can feel like throwing spaghetti at the wall, going through the motions, & checking the boxes without feeling sure about what it is all for.
In fact - lacking clarity is the #1 thing that can contribute to procrastination in your brand (trust me, I know from personal and professional experience).
Don’t know what to post on Instagram? It’s probably because you don’t feel super clear about what’s next for your brand.
It's been almost three years since I went from freelancer to founder and created Cedar June. A lot has changed in the online world since then, but I've gotten even clearer on the kind of work I want to do—helping people create personalized brands that look, feel, and sound authentic to them.
And I'm not just saying that because it's currently trending on IG. Building your brand around your values, personal aesthetic, voice, and the quirky little things that make you and your offers unique is the foundation on which Cedar June was built.
I'll be taking you through the process of refreshing my brand from the ground up, one week at a time. Starting with week 1 - which is getting the clarity you need to take the next step.

Practical Tips for Building an Authentic Brand:
Getting Clarity on the Next Steps for Your Brand ↓
|
The first step to building a brand that feels authentic to you and your vision is getting clear on who you want to work with and what your brand is going to offer.
Here are five questions you can ask yourself to get clearer on the next steps for your brand:
- If someone landed on my website or social media feed for the first time today, how far would they have to scroll to figure out what I do, why it is unique, and who I do it for?
- If I met someone at a party and they asked me what I do for work, could I tell them without tripping over my words or getting nervous sweats?
- What do I know needs some work in my brand right now?
- What about my brand is holding me back and feels sticky right now?
- What is the #1 goal I need to reach in my brand/business this year?

a note from catie
One thing I've become super clear on in the last couple of weeks is a bit of a change for Cedar June.
In fact, I've already slipped it in here a few times, but I doubt you've noticed. When I first named Cedar June Studio almost three years ago, I thought the word "studio" meant I was a one-woman show and that owning an "agency" sounded scary and like I would have to manage a team.
Meanwhile, I was starting to learn how to manage myself. Fast-forward to today, and I'm officially phasing out "studio" and referring to myself as Cedar June—a brand and digital marketing agency.
I've been a brand and digital marketing agency for a long time, especially in my 1:1 work with clients, but now I actually have the clarity and confidence to step into that role moving forward.
